Key Juventus duo extend contracts

barzagliJuventus have announced that Gianluigi Buffon and Andrea Barzagli have extended their contracts with the club.

The two defensive stalwarts will now both remain with the Bianconeri until 2018.

“I am proud of myself, I wanted to show that I could play for a team like Juventus,” said Barzagli as the renewals were announced to reporters.

“I felt strong emotions and some fear when I arrived to play in front of such fans at an important stadium.

“Five years have passed now and we have won a lot, I am extremely happy to renew my contract and I can’t wait to get back on the pitch.”

The Old Lady’s goalkeeper and captain also expressed his joy at extending his career in Turin.

“I am proud of the faith the club has shown in me,” added Buffon.

“I hope that my Juventus career can end in the best possible way, I am happy to share this important moment with a team-mate because we are united on the pitch in a way that is something special.
