Chievo 3-0 at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday afternoon.

The Giallorossi controlled the opening stages and took the lead in 18th minute through Radja Nainggolan. In the 39th minute I Lupi made it 2-0 through Antonio Rudiger.

In the second-half, Roma dominated once again but it took until the 85th minute to the find their third through Miralem Pjanic.

Roma began the match in dominant fashion and tested Albano Bizzarri early on when Lucas Digne received the ball just inside the penalty area before firing a fierce shot which was saved comfortably by the Italian.

Eventually the Giallorossi broke through. Nainggolan attempted to play a one-two with Alessandro Florenzi but his pass was blocked, yet the ball rebounded straight back to the Belgian who fired his shot past Bizzarri.

Following this, the Mussi Volanti managed to slow Roma but from Miralem Pjanic’s curled free-kick, the Giallorossi doubled their lead when Rudiger headed in at the back-post.

Just before half-time, Wojciech Szczesny produced a magnificent to deny Antonio Floro Flores’s 30-yard free-kick.

The Giallorossi began the second-half in determined mood and almost sealed the win when Diego Perotti cut inside and thrashed a shot goalwards, but once again Bizzarri stood firm.

Yet, Chievo were still in the match and should have pulled a goal back when Paul-Jose Mpoku shot smacked the post from within the six-yard-box.

In the 72nd minute Sergio Pellissier’s pinpoint header forced Szczesny into another superb save to the keep the score 2-0.

Five minutes later Bizzarri emulated Szczesny, producing a beautiful fingertip save to deny Stephen El Shaarawy’s whipped strike.

Just before full-time Roma made it 3-0. Kevin Strootman played the ball to Francesco Totti, who’s superb one-touch pass slipped in Miralem Pjanic in behind the Chievo defence and the Bosnian produced a deft finish.

The result leaves Roma temporarily in second place whilst Chievo stay ninth in the table.
