Udinese have officially confirmed the appointment of Giuseppe Iachini as their coach for the forthcoming Serie A campaign, revealing that he has signed a two-year contract with the club.

The 52-year-old will replace the outgoing Luigi De Canio, who previously succeeded Stefano Colantuono as the Bianconeri’s head coach in March.

“Udinese can confirm that Giuseppe Iachini is the new coach of the first team,” read a statement on the club’s official website.

“The tactician, who is a native of Ascoli Piceno, has signed a two-year contract and will be presented during a press conference on Thursday afternoon.”

The Zebrette have succesfully obtained their primary target for their bench, after Leeds United were also interested in obtaining Iachini’s signature.

Iachini was previously in charge of Palermo on two separate occasions, but departed for the last time in March, when he guided the Aquile for less than a month.
