AC Milan have confirmed the renewed contracts for defenders Cristian Zapata and Jherson Vergara.
The Rossoneri have extended the deals with the two Colombian players; Zapata will be playing at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza until 2019, as well as Vergara, currently on a loan spell at Livorno.
Zapata, 29 years old, had transferred to the Diavolo side from Villareal in 2012, for a fee in the region of €6 million. The Serie A veteran had previously spent six seasons with Udinese, earning a reputation as one of the most solid defenders in the league.
Zapata accumulated 16 Serie A appearances with Milan last season, scoring one goal; the scarce playing time is due to the arrival of Alessio Romagnoli from Roma during last summer.
