Atalanta appoint former Genoa coach

Gasperini - GenoaFormer Genoa coach Gian Piero Gasperini has been officially unveiled as the new coach of Atalanta, ahead of the 2016-17 campaign.

The move had been speculated for some time now, though Gasperini only reached an agreement with the Grifone for the mutual termination of his contract on Tuesday morning.

La Dea announced the arrival of the 58-year-old on their official website on Tuesday afternoon, though the length of the contract have not yet been revealed.

Gasperini has been involved with coaching since 1994, shortly after hanging up his boots the previous year.

During the course of his coaching career, the Turin native has take charge of Crotone and Inter, as well as two spells at both Genoa and Palermo.
