The Italian signed for the Giallorossi in January on a loan deal with the option to buy for €13m and today that move was made official.

It has been confirmed by the club that they have paid €13m to AC Milan, with the player penning a four-year contract until 30 June 2020.

Following the announcement, El Shaarawy spoke of the deal and reiterated how pleased he was that the club decided to sign him on a permanent basis.

“Today is a very special day for me because I am now a Roma player in every way.
