AC Milan and Inter are currently the favourites to sign Martin Caceres, who is currently a free-agent after he parted ways with Juventus at the end of last season.
Caceres, who is also receiving interest from Napoli and Fiorentina, has already excluded Roma as a potential destination as he currently recovers from injury in Como.
According to La Repubblica, the player might prefer to move to Milan as the club is prepared to offer a three-year contract and a starting role in defensive line once he is fully recovered from injuries.
The same source reports that Milan’s new head coach, Vincenzo Montella has given the green light to sign the defender, and is thought to be impressed by his versatility.
Caceres, now 29 years old, has spent last five years with Juventus recording 249 appearances in all competitions.
Prior to Juventus, Caceres has also played for Sevilla, Barcelona, Recreativo and Defensor.
