Juventus target Mateo Kovacic may not move to Italy at all as German club Borussia Dortmund are interested in him.

The Real Madrid midfielder moved to Spain from Inter in 2015 and it had been previously reported that he could make a return to the city, only for the Nerazzurri’s bitter rivals AC Milan.

Now, however, as reported by Bild, the 22-year-old’s next destination could be the German Bundesliga as Borussia Dortmund have expressed a desire to bring his services to the Westfalenstadion.

A move away from Los Blancos for Kovacic would not come as a surprise after a season to forget in which he scored just one goal in 34 games.

The Croatian international regularly started from the bench while in Spain and didn’t start any of the club’s final 10 games of the 2015/16 season.
