Higuain Napoli AtalantaArsenal are preparing to offer a player plus cash deal to Napoli in an attempt to steal striker Gonzalo Higuain and bring him to England.

Higuain has been the Partenopei’s star player and was awarded the Capocannoniere for last season’s Serie A with a huge 36 goals, with no other player totalling more than 20.

As a result, the Argentine international has been the interest of several clubs and, according to gianlucadimarzio.com, Arsenal are next to make a move on the transfer market as they are preparing an offer containing forward Olivier Giroud.

The Gunners will hope this will reduce the amount they need to spend on Higuain, but it isn’t just the English Premier League side who have been interested in the 28-year-old.

He was recently offered a sensational €50m-per-season contract from Chinese Super League side Hebei China Fortune but rejected.

Higuain has a release clause of €94 million so it is unlikely that Arsenal will be able to bring down their spending a huge amount to persuade the Partenopei to part ways with ‘Il Pipita’.
