Torino Fc - Hellas Verona Pierluigi GolliniHellas Verona‘s Pierluigi Gollini has completed a move to England, having put pen-to-paper on a four-year deal with Aston Villa.

The 21-year-old impressed for the Mastini last season, despite the club being relegated to Serie B, and new Villa boss Roberto Di Matteo is a keen admirer of the shot-stopper.

“I am very pleased to have brought in Pierluigi,” Di Matteo told the Championship club’s official website.

“We have managed to sign him despite the fact he was being chased by a number of top sides and that is a great sign.

“He’s a young man but has plenty of experience and I’m sure he’ll prove to be an excellent signing for the Club.”

Gollini, who previously spent time in England with Manchester United, is expected to take the No.1 shirt with his new club, ahead of both Brad Guzan and Mark Bunn.

Having come through the youth ranks at Fiorentina, Gollini moved to Manchester in 2012, where he struggled to break into the first team, before returning to Verona in 2014.
