The impressive Croatian international has put pen to paper on a five-year contract at the Vicente Calderon Stadium in a move that is estimated to have cost Los Rojiblancos around €16 million.
“Playing in Atletico will be a big challenge for me,” Vrsaljko said to the club’s official website after signing. “I am very happy.”

Atleti’s sporting director,Luis Perez Caminero, confessed his delight with the club’s latest signing.
“Vrsaljko is a player with a huge ability, and he has already demonstrated his quality in a championship as competitive as the Italian Serie A.
“He is a player who will increase the competition for places in our squad, and will offer us a lot of interesting options as he can play on either side of the pitch.”
The 24-year-old joined the Neroverdi in 2014, having previously played for Genoa in Serie A.
