Lazio coach, Marcelo Bielsa has denounced the club’s transfer policy.

Bielsa joined the side on July 6 before 48 hours later and has since been replaced by Simone Inzaghi, and the Argentine has labelled the Biancocelesti’s actions in the transfer market as the main reason.

“My colleagues and I have made this decision because, after four weeks of work, we did not get any of the seven purchases expressed in the work plan approved by President [Claudio] Lotito,” Bielsa said in a statement.

“Taking into account that it had been decided to sell 18 players last season, the arrival of new players was necessary.

“It was approved, as a key part of the work programme, that there would be the purchase of at least four players by July 5 but, by this date, there had been no complete purchase.”

Inzaghi will take over as caretaker boss while Lazio attempt to find some stability before the next Serie A season begins.
