martin caceresAfter becoming a free agent following his Juventus departure, defender Martin Caceres looks set to join Serie A rivals Roma this summer.

The 29-year-old had played for La Vecchia Signora on two loan spells before joining them permanently in 2012, before being struck by injuries last season and missing the conclusion of the last campaign.

He has since left the club, and La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the Uruguayan international is keen on moving to the Italian capital, with the Giallorossi showing a mutual interest.

While in Turin, Caceres managed seven goals and six assists in 110 games, whether it be on loan or as a proper Bianconeri player.

Should the former Barcelona and Sevilla man not join Roma, however, there is an alternative in Inter‘s Brazilian international Juan Jesus.

The 25-year-old joined the Nerazzurri in 2012, and has since appeared 142 times in all competitions.
