GiaccheriniNew Napoli signing Emanuele Giaccherini is looking forward to new experiences with the Partenopei in a move he believes is well-timed.

The 31-year-old completed the switch to Serie A from English Premier League side Sunderland recently and his Euro 2016 performances for Italy made him a wanted wan in the summer transfer market.

“I’ve come at an important time to a prestigious club and I am delighted to wear this shirt,” Giaccherini said, according to the official website of Napoli.

“I cannot wait to start my adventure with Napoli, playing at the Stadio San Paolo will be fantastic.”

Along with confirmation of the signing, Napoli’s website also revealed that Giaccherini signed a three-year contract.

He appeared in a Sunderland shirt for three years after previously playing for Juventus and Cesena as well as loan spells to lower league sides.

Giaccherini took part in four of Italy’s five games at Euro 2016, scoring against Belgium and assisting another goal against Spain.
