Italy Under-21 international Pierluigi Gollini is expected to leave Serie B’s Hellas Verona for another recently relegated side in Aston Villa.
The 21-year-old became the Gialloblu’s no.1 choice during the later part of the season and made 26 appearances for the bottom side.
According to Tuttomercatoweb.com, an agreement has already been reached for a deal worth around €5 million excluding bonuses and the transfer is likely to be made official soon.
Gollini is expected to receive a four-year contract at Villa Park under new coach Roberto Di Matteo.
The youngster made his debut in September 2014 in a 2-2 draw with Genoa despite being third choice at the Stadio Bentegodi.
The goalkeeper spent three years in the Manchester United youth system but without making a senior appearance for the Red Devils.
