Torino defender Bruno Peres as a possible backup should Leonardo Bonucci not move to England.

The Italian international has been heavily linked with the English Premier League giants recently but, if City have their efforts rejected, it appears that they are still focused on bringing in a Serie A man.

According to the Mail on Sunday, that man is Torino defender Bruno Peres, with an offer of around €20 million reportedly in the works to try and persuade Il Toro to let him go.

The 26-year-old Brazilian moved to the Granata in 2014 from Santos having won the Recopa Sudamericana with the Brazilian side a couple of years earlier.

Peres has since played a big part in his squad’s efforts in Serie A and cup competitions, appearing 67 times overall and scoring six goals, while assisting a further 12.
