Inter president Massimo Moratti believes the best move for striker Mauro Icardi is to stay at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

Icardi has been linked with moves away from the Nerazzurri after comments made by his wife led to the Biscione fans wishing for his captaincy to be removed, however his future still remains uncertain.

“I think a lot of it will count on the player’s will, but it seems like he wants to stat at Inter,” Moratti told fcinternews.

“I hope that now he is the same player as he was before, because he is a great striker.

“So I would keep him, but as long as he kept the pleasure of playing in Nerazzurri colours.”

Coach Roberto Mancini has also been linked with a departure, after the Russian national side were interested in employing him as their new boss.

“The coach is definitely with Inter, there is a valid contract until June 2017 and I’m not ruling out the possibility that there will be a renewal very soon,” Moratti said.

“I hope that all this speculation and all these rumours will disappear soon.”
