Atalanta Marco SportielloAs Napoli look to utilise the money they will receive for Gonzalo Higuain, Atalanta goalkeeper Marco Sportiello has emerged as a target.

The 24-year-old made 36 appearances for La Dea last season on their way to finishing 13th in the league, and the Italian’s consistent showings in goal for the side have attracted interest from Maurizio Sarri and the rest of the Partenopei management.

According to SportItalia, Napoli have communicated their willingness to buy Sportiello, for whom Sarri is looking to offer €5 million plus Luigi Sepe.

Sepe, who spent the previous season on loan at Fiorentina and made just one appearance in a Viola shirt, has also had stints on loan at Empoli and Virtus Lanciano.

Sportiello returned to Atalanta back in 2013 from Carpi, having previously plied his trade with the club as a youngster from 1999 to 2010.
