Daniele RuganiJuventus defender Daniele Rugani could be tempted to part ways with the Turin giants this summer, as rivals Roma hope to land his signature.

The Italian youngster spent the first half of the 2015/16 season on the bench and may drop down in the pecking order once more as defender Mehdi Benatia is expected to arrive on loan from Bayern Munich, which would effectively place him as fifth choice.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, such a move may force Rugani into looking for an escape route, a sight which pleases capital club Roma, who are reportedly waiting in the wings.

Roma’s frantic search for a man at the back this summer has been well documented, and they now look towards their closest Scudetto contenders to fill the hole in defence.

Rugani stands as their ideal man, as he holds both youth and an abundance of talent, and with the Giaollorossi able to offer a regular starting spot the 21-year-old may just fancy his chances down south.

However, it remains to be seen how far the Lupi will go to convince Juventus to let go of their prized youngster, with the Bianconeri having so far suggested that he is not for sale at any costs.
