Inter coach Roberto Mancini as his replacement.

Fabio Capello had led the Golden Eagles for three years before he left and was replaced by Slutsky in August 2015, but the 45-year-old also departed the national side after they lost 3-0 to Wales in the group stage of Euro 2016, meaning they failed to advance to the knockout rounds.

According to Russian news agency TASS, the Russian Football Union will attemptĀ to convince current Inter boss Roberto Mancini to take the vacant job as they start preparations for the 2018 World Cup, which will be hosted in Russia.

It would be the first international post for Mancini should he accept, as he has only stayed with Serie A clubs throughout his managerial career apart from a five-year period, in which he took charge of Manchester City and Turkish side Galatasary.
