Juventus could be forced to look at different options to Axel Witsel this summer, as Zenit St Petersburg are driving a hard bargain.

The Bianconeri are on the lookout for a strong midfield reinforcement due to the likelihood that Paul Pogba will soon join Manchester United, and Witsel had been their first choice.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, however, Zenit want at least €25 million for the 27-year-old, €7m more than Juventus were willing to spend.

Despite the fact that Witsel is in favour of a move to Italy, as he is not convinced by the possibilities at Everton, La Vecchia Signora may have to look elsewhere should they not raise sufficient cash.

Possibilities include Chelsea’s Nemanja Matic, although Blues boss Antonio Conte is reluctant to let him go.

In France, Paris Saint-Germain’s Blaise Matuidi is another option, while Newcastle United man Moussa Sissoko could also make the switch.
