Roma have completed another signing in the summer transfer window, namely Tottenham Hotspur defender Federico Fazio on loan.
The Giallorossi recently re-signed Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny on a season-long loan deal, and now 29-year-old Argentine international Fazio is the next man to make the move to the Italian capital.
Announced on the club’s official website, Roma have signed Fazio on loan for the next season with the right to buy him outright at the end of the spell for €3.2 million, making the deal overall worth €4.4m, and then the player spoke to Roma TV about his eagerness to get going.
“I am very happy to be playing for a great time like Roma,” Fazio said.
“I really want to begin training and get to know my new teammates and coach.”
Fazio reached the final of the English Football League cup with Tottenham in 2015 and has played 32 times in all competitions since joining the club in 2014, although he did spend part of that time on loan at Sevilla.
