Fabio CapelloFormer Roma and Juventus boss Fabio Capello has revealed he has no plans to return to coaching after his departure from Russia last year.

The 70-year-old took charge of the Russian national side between 2012 and 2015, but hasn’t had any work since being sacked in June last year, and he has announced there is little chance he will return any time soon.

“I only slightly miss the coaching bench,” he told reporters, according to ANSA.

“I feel engaged in my projects within TV.

“I have no more desires to be achieved on the bench, I have received many offers but I rejected them all.

“I have already done work for national sides, while for a club it should be a project that’s really appetising.”

Capello then went on to congratulate new Italy coach Giampiero Ventura, after his 3-1 victory over Israel in his first competitive game, following a loss to France.

“We have seen something different from [former boss Antonio] Conte,” he said.

“He started with a defeat, but he had the courage against Israel to get two goals ahead, and also they had one man less.

“It is a good sign.”
