Former AC Milan coach Leonardo has revealed he is hoping to return to coaching at some point in the near future, potentially in France.

The 47-year-old had taken over the reins at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in 2009 after Carlo Ancelotti left for Chelsea, but he joined arch-rivals Inter just a year later following the departure of Rafael Benitez, and he stayed with the Nerazzurri until 2011.

“I think I will be back soon in the football world,” Leonardo told Cadena SER.

“I would see myself as a coach, who handles the administrative part of as a sporting director, who has the technical knowledge of the game.

“I think I will come back, but as a coach.”

The Brazilian retired from playing football in 2003 and has recently been the subject of reported interest from French Ligue 1 side Olympique de Marseille for the post of sporting director.

His last job was as a sporting director but with Marseille’s French rivals Paris Saint-Germain.
