Napoli are now top of the league in Serie A, after beating Bologna with Juventus falling at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza against Inter.

The Nerazzurri found in Mauro Icardi a great leader, with AC Milan winning thanks to Carlos Bacca. A Milan Badelj stunner gave Fiorentina three points, with Chievo, Sassuolo, Lazio and Cagliari also winning.

This week’s Team of the Week will see a 4-3-3 formation deployed. Do you agree with our choices?

Rafael – Cagliari

If Cagliari were able to get rid of Atalanta that easily, it’s thanks to Rafael’s saves as much as the strikers’ goals. The keeper stopped Alberto Paloschi’s penalty and conceded nothing for the rest of the game.

Fabrizio Cacciatore – Chievo

Chievo’s winning spirit in Udine is encapsulated by this player: as a right back he has the energy to go forward and fire home the winning goal on 95 minutes. Fantastic.

serie-a-1617-totw-4Jeison Murillo – Inter

What a solid performance from the Colombian, in what was on paper the toughest game of the season against the best strikers, Paulo Dybala, Mario Mandzukic and Gonzalo Higuain. Next to a splendid Joao Miranda, Murillo showed all his strengths, with 90 minutes of excellent defending.

Luca Antei – Sassuolo

In Sassuolo’s 2-0 victory over Genoa, there’s a lot of this young defender, who cancelled Leonardo Pavoletti from the game.

Stefan Radu – Lazio

The captain is back. Radu started on the left in the back four, providing as always a clean display and also firing home the 2-0 that ended the game.

Ever Banega – Inter

Inter’s mind in the middle, the Nerazzurri’s game passes from his feet. His corner leads to Icardi’s equaliser, and his constant movement kills Juventus’ midfield.

Carlos Sanchez – Fiorentina (2 Team of the Week appearances)

The Colombian against Roma was at it again, dominating the midfield and helping Fiorentina fight against the Roma trio. Badelj scored the winner and gave quality, but Sanchez put in that spirit that is needed to win games.

Ivan Perisic – Inter

Eder hadn’t played badly, but when Perisic came on Inter were something else down the left. A constant threat for Juventus, and the winning goal with a splendid header.

Arkadiusz Milik – Napoli (2 apps)

Manolo Gabbiadini started for Napoli, Milik won them the game. Another brace for the polish giant, the third this season. Let us say this again: Higuain who?

Marco Borriello – Cagliari

On the day when legend Gigi Riva assisted from the stands, Cagliari won their first game since returning to the top flight. And this man, left-footed just like Riva, made the difference. Two goals to send Atalanta to hell.

Mauro Icardi – Inter (2 apps)

What a player Icardi has become! His game against Juventus was simply perfection. The goal, the assist for the winner, the runs, the fights with the Juve defenders. Icardi was everywhere. And what a leader too, taking Inter on his shoulders after going 0-1 down. Simply the best.
