Post sacking recovery

No, it’s not Palermo this week. After Torino beat them 5-3 last round, Pescara have relieved coach Massimo Oddo of his duties at the Stadio Adriatico, despite stating their support for him just several hours earlier.

No permanent replacement has been announced yet, so it is up to caretaker boss Luciano Zauri to lead the team when they host Genoa this weekend.

The Delfini sit rock bottom of the league table with just nine points all season. It seems extremely unlikely now that they’ll be featuring in Serie A next season, but Zauri will give it his best shot, starting against the Rossoblu on Sunday afternoon.

From Genoa’s point of view, they need a win after not claiming victory since December 1, and are slowly dropping down the table towards the drop zone. However, the gap between them and 18th place is probably big enough to not cause worry just yet.

Inter’s resurgence

Since appointing Stefano Pioli as coach back in November, the Nerazzurri have won 11 times, putting together a nine-match winning streak during that time.

They have made their way up to fourth place in the table, and if this form continues they could even find themselves in the Champions League next season.

Bologna host Inter on Sunday afternoon, with the Rossoblu themselves needing points to block out any potential fears of possible relegation this season.
