Juventus will be looking to avenge their 2015 Barcelona heartbreak as they return to the Champions League semi-final this week. Massimiliano Allegri’s men managed to get their revenge on Barca by knocking them out at the quarter-final stages and will now aim to take their mission full throttle. But do Juve have what it takes to win the Champions League?

The Bianconeri are in fine form this season and they head the Serie A with a seven-point lead. They have replicated that fine league form in the Champions League, displaying the best record of any team in the competition this season.

This is why the bookies currently have them at 7/5 to win the final and if you like the sound of that then this Bet 365 free bet is worth looking into. Juve are unbeaten in the competition thus far, displaying an incredible record of 19 goals in 11 games, with nine clean sheets and conceding just two goals.

As a perfect example of their impeccable defensive record, Juve have also been faultless in Serie A and have conceded just 23 goals in 35 games and have lost just four games in all competitions. Going by form they should have what it takes to keep remaining semi-finalists Monaco, Atletico and Real Madrid at bay.

Allegri has tinkered with his backline this season as The Bianconeri have lined up with both a back-three and a back-four this season, with Leonardo Bonucci and Andrea Barzagli teaming up with Chiello to assemble the “BBC” dream team.

Of course, if Juve are going to be Champions League winners then there’s the small matter of getting past Monaco in the semi-finals first. The French giants won’t be an easy test, but with a two-goal lead going into the second leg they should be fine.

That said, two of those losses, a 5-3 defeat away to Manchester City and a 3-0 hammering away to Bayern Leverkusen, have come in Europe. This, along with the fact that Juve are currently unbeaten in Turin this season suggests Allegri’s side are more than capable.

The Vecchia Signora also have a mental edge over their semi-final opponents which should help see the to the final, Monaco are making their first semi-final appearance in over decade meaning Juve have experience on their side. The pair also faced each other in the quarter-finals of the competition during the 2014/15 season with a 1-0 home win and a 0-0 draw enough to see Juve into the semi-finals.

Whilst it’s not a given, there is no denying that Juventus can get past Monaco but will they be able to get past Real Madrid, or should they produce an epic comeback in the second leg, Atletico Madrid?

Gianluigi Buffon is hopeful his side can be victorious in Cardiff. Juve haven’t won football’s greatest prize for over two decades and it would be the perfect parting gift for a 39-year-old Buffon who is nearing the end of his playing career.

Having lost 3-1 in the final to Barcelona in 2015, Juve have progressed untold amounts in two short years and now possess even more class and experience. If they do secure a place in the final, the Juventus team is packed with experienced names more than competent enough to clinch the trophy.

Losing the likes of Paul Pogba and Alvaro Morata to Manchester United and potential opponents Real Madrid has hurt Juventus but with the likes of Gonzalo Higuain, Miralem Pjanic and Dani Alves remaining, it is an established team that is going to take some beating.
