After Chievo’s 0-0 draw with Roma, Gialloblu midfielder Valter Birsa felt his side fully deserved their point despite being under the cosh of the majority.

Stefano Sorrentino produced a string of stunning saves to deny Roma and make sure the Giallorossi only left Verona with one point.

“We were playing against a great Roma side, and had to sacrifice our game but we deserved the draw,” Birsa told Mediaset Premium after the game.

“They came here to win, and when you don’t score you, of course, get a little nervous.

“Today Sorrentino was great. We also had chances but the ball didn’t go in, but I’m sure the chances will start going in for us.”
