Sassuolo were no match for Juventus and succumbed to a 7-0 defeat in their Serie A clash at the Allianz Stadium.

Going into the game, Sassuolo had never won in Turin and an early Alex Sandro goal made any chance of victory less likely.

Sami Khedira bagged two goals in three minutes to effectively put the game to bed, before Miralem Pjanic got the fourth before the break.

Not content with his teammates receiving all the plaudits, Gonzalo Higuain got a hat-trick in the second half.

As a result, Juventus move two points clear of Napoli at the top of Serie A, with the Partenopei playing later on Sunday.

Alex Sandro opened the scoring after just nine minutes after some pinball in the Sassuolo penalty area.

The lead was then doubled after Alex Sandro flicked a Pjanic corner into the path of Khedira, who side-footed home from close range.

And just three minutes later the German got his second and Juve’s third, latching onto a Pjanic through ball, and cooly finishing past the goalkeeper.

All three points were made safe just before half time as Pjanic blasted in from the edge of the penalty area.

After the break, Higuain made it five with a nice turn and shot from the edge of the area, which rocketed into the far left corner.

Not long after, Higuain got his second of the day, beating the offside trap, rounding Consigli and easily finishing into the empty net.

Number seven followed, after Federico Bernardeschi slide the ball into the box and Higuain dinked the ball over Consigli to guarantee the match ball.
