Piotr Zielinski has received glowing praise from Napoli coach Maurizio Sarri, who has proclaimed the midfielder as being the new Kevin De Bruyne.

The Manchester City star has emerged as one of the world’s finest midfield talents in recent years, with the ex-Chelsea man also impressing at international level with Belgium.

However, Sarri believes that the Partenopei may have their own answer to De Bruyne within their own ranks in the form of Zielinski, who he also coached during their time together at Empoli.

“He is an absolutely fantastic talent, with great physical and technical skills,” Sarri said of Zielinski prior to their Europa League clash with RB Leipzig on Thursday night.

“If he grows as we expect him to, with his personality as well as his skills on the field, then he can play anywhere on the pitch. He will be the new De Bruyne.”

The 23-year-old has still found playing time largely hard to come by under Sarri, despite the esteem he holds him in, starting just 15 games in all competitions, contributing six goals and one assist.
