Despite his side’s defeat to Arsenal in the Europa League on Thursday, Milan coach Gennaro Gattuso was able to take some positives from the game.

The Rossoneri lost for the first time in 13 games in a 0-2 humbling, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Aaron Ramsey grabbing the Gunners goals.

“I like the atmosphere here these days,” admitted Gattuso, “the anger and disappointment, with few people smiling. It shows the desire, so I prefer a defeat that hurts.

“We tried to understand why we didn’t play well, we didn’t play as a team the way we have been lately. I am the first person responsible for that, but at least we know now that we are still vulnerable.”

“We are still excited and enthusiastic, so we can do well if we do not get too down. It’s all still new for me, and I think it will take 15 to 20 games to get even better.”

Gattuso’s side will look to return to winning ways at Genoa on Sunday evening before the trip to Arsenal in the Europa League on Thursday.
