Juventus winger Juan Cuadrado has issued a rallying call to his teammates to use their anger at being eliminated from the Champions League by Real Madrid into lifting the Scudetto and Coppa Italia.
The Bianconeri were dumped out of Europe by a last-gasp Cristiano Ronaldo penalty on Wednesday after clawing back a 3-0 first leg defeat to lead by the same scoreline at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.
The decision to award a spot-kick for a push by Medhi Benatia prompted a furious response from a number of Juventus players, but Cuadrado has called on that rage to be channelled into something productive.
“We have to forget the result in Madrid and use that anger towards ensuring we win our remaining games, to lift the Scudetto and also the Coppa Italia,” the Colombian told JTV ahead of Juventus’ Serie A clash against Sampdoria on Sunday.
Following Napoli’s goalless draw at AC Milan, Juventus have the opportunity to extend their lead at the top of the table to six points with victory at the Allianz Stadium.
Meanwhile, the Turin club could complete a double this season when they face Milan in the Coppa Italia final on 9 May at the Stadio Olimpico.
