Gianluigi Donnarumma is not untouchable at AC Milan any longer and Marco Fassone has confessed that he could be sold for the right price this summer.

Despite penning an extended new contract last year, the 19-year-old has continued to be linked with a move away from the San Siro as the relationship between his representatives and the club continues to sour.

While the Rossoneri executive admitted that his preference would be to keep hold of the goalkeeper, the club will not stand in his way if he wants to leave.

“The important thing in terms of Donnarumma is that the offer is fair and if that is the case and the player agrees to it, then the club would not oppose a move,” Fassone told Radio Uno.

“With Donnarumma, there continues to be a long and open dialogue and of course our hope is that in the end, he decides to stay here. He is the future of Italian football but we know that in the market, many things can happen.”

Financial Fair Play will also have a big impact on the Diavolo’s dealings this summer with the club expecting to be hit with a UEFA sanction and Fassone gave an indicator of what can be expected from Gennaro Gattuso’s men in the upcoming window.

“It will be a more targeted and selective market due to restrictions so there will be just enough players to reinforce in the areas that we need to. We won’t change half the team but just make the improvements we must,” he added.

“In the next few days, there will be talks with [Massimiliano] Mirabelli and with the Chinese group and then we will start to act. I hope Suso remains but I will say that no offers have arrived for him or Donnarumma.

“We can be more competitive next year with two or three good signings. This year, we thought the squad we built would be good enough for the top four but we have improved in the second half and are optimistic.”
