Mario Mandzukic is set to turn down a move to Chinese Super League outfit Tianjin Quanjian in favour of remaining with Juventus.

The Croatian forward has been a long-term target for a number of Chinese clubs, and is far from a first choice up front with the Bianconeri, having been deployed wide on the left for much of the past two seasons.

With his future uncertain at the Allianz Stadium, Tianjin had renewed their interest and were ready to open negotiations with Juventus, but have been knocked back by Mandzukic, according to Tuttosport.

Having seen a January approach turned down by Juventus, Tianjin were hopeful of engaging with the Bianconeri this summer, with a view to lining Mandzukic up in attack alongside former AC Milan star Alexandre Pato.

However, after coach Massimiliano Allegri committed his future to the club, Mandzukic is set to follow suit and refuse the chance to leave European football for China.

The former Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich forward has scored 34 goals in 127 appearances for Juventus since arriving from the former in 2015.
