Maurizio Sarri is no longer Napoli coach, but it appears Chelsea are willing to offer David Luiz in a bid to land the tactician.

Carlo Ancelotti was named the new Azzurri boss on Wednesday, thereby replacing the 59-year-old – who still has two years remaining on his deal with the Partenopei.

With Sarri still on Napoli’s books, and €8 million needed to activate his release clause, it looks as though Chelsea are instead willing to offer David Luiz as compensation according to The Daily Express.

The Blues are expected to part ways with current manager Antonio Conte, and it appears they have made Sarri their top priority to replace him.

Luiz’s inclusion in the deal would also provide the Brazilian with a fresh start, after falling out of favour at Stamford Bridge last campaign.

The Brazilian netted twice in just 17 appearances in all competitions for Chelsea in 2017/18.
