Roma will look to steal a march on their competitors in the race to sign Atalanta midfielder Bryan Cristante by offering forward Gregoire Defrel in a part-exchange.
Cristante’s string of superb performances since arriving at La Dea from Portuguese outfit Benfica in January 2017 have led to a host of clubs vying for his services, including Juventus, Inter, Napoli and Arsenal.
However, Roma are ready to take their interest in the Italian international further by offering €15 million plus Defrel, according to Tuttosport.
The French forward has failed to make an impact at the Stadio Olimpico since arriving from Sassuolo last summer, but could prove to be a welcome addition for Atalanta.
With only a single goal from 15 appearances in an injury-hit campaign, Roma are ready to offload Defrel and see a part-exchange as an ideal resolution.
Cristante, meanwhile, has scored 12 goals in 44 games for the Oribici this term, and was rewarded with an Italy debut in October’s 1-1 draw against Macedonia.
