The wife and agent of Inter captain Mauro Icardi has claimed that he either wants to sign a new deal at the club or he will leave during the summer.

After another successful season in which the Argentine secured joint capocannoniere honours and led his side back into the Champions League group stages, his future is once again a topic of conversation.

While Wanda Icardi has revealed that her husband’s preference is to remain at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, she was nonetheless blunt in laying out what the options are for the player’s future.

“The situation around Icardi is either a renewal or a departure and there are big clubs who are all pushing to sign him,” she said in an interview with Radio Metro.

“I won’t say any names but there are three of the biggest clubs in the world who are willing to pay his release clause, which isn’t very high, Many clubs want to sign him.

“There will be a meeting with the sporting director of Inter though because his preference is to stay in Milan.”

Despite Icardi’s outstanding individual season, the Inter striker incredibly failed to make the cut for Jorge Sampaoli’s Argentina squad for the World Cup in Russia.
