Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos will have his proposed move to AC Milan put on hold as the club look to appoint a new head coach.

Having lifted the Champions League trophy last month Los Blancos were hit with the resignation of Zinedine Zidane, leading to uncertainty over the future of many of their players.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport the Rossoneri are keen on adding Ceballos to their squad this summer, but much will depend on where he fits in at Real Madrid.

Should the new Real Madrid boss consider the 21 year-old part of his plans, then Milan have to look elsewhere or be forced to pay in excess of €20 million for his services.

Ceballos made just 12 La Liga appearances in his first season at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu and Milan remain hopeful of capturing the former Real Betis youth product.
