Depending on the sanction they receive from UEFA this summer, AC Milan will attempt to make a move for either Alvaro Morata or Radamel Falcao to strengthen in attack.

The move for either man largely depends on what sanctions the club are hit with this month by European football’s governing body for failing to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations, with one option being to expel the Diavolo from the Europa League.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Chelsea man is Milan’s first choice and they will swoop for him, provided they aren’t removed from European competition for the coming campaign.

He has already been approached by the Rossoneri, who left London over the weekend and had dinner in Turin on Sunday evening, although his former club Juventus are also believed to be monitoring the situation.

The striker’s wife Alice is also Italian and given that she is expecting twins, it is reported that Morata would be open to a return to Italy, with Milan also having attempted to sign his last summer.

Morata would only consider a move to the San Siro in the event that the club were in Europe and it gave him an opportunity to showcase his talents on the international stage and win back his Spain place.

One stumbling block could be the Chelsea man’s price tag and given Milan’s struggles to comply with FFP, they have allocated a possible €70 million to his signing but it would mean the club having to sell a player for an equivalent price.

However, there is a plan B for the Diavolo and a much more cost effective on in the form of Monaco forward Falcao, who they will attempt to sign in the even that they are excluded from Europe or can’t secure Morata’s signing.

Last Friday, Massimiliano Mirabelli attended the game between Egypt and Colombia due to public relations commitments and got an up close look at the player in the process.

The current low-cost plan being mooted for the Diavolo at present would be to sign Falcao on loan for a season and send Andre Silva in the opposite direction for a year, a move which could be helped by the players sharing the same agent in Jorge Mendes.
