AC Milan are understood to have spoken directly with Lazio striker Ciro Immobile, who has expressed a desire to make the move to the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza this summer.

The 28 year-old scored 41 goals in 47 appearances for the Biancocelesti including eight goals in nine Europa League fixtures, finishing the season as joint top scorer with Mauro Icardi.

Immobile met with Milan sporting director Massimiliano Mirabelli to give his blessing to a deal that would see him sign for Milan, according to Sky Sport Italia.

Any move for Immobile is likely to be very complicated for the Rossoneri as Lazio will want a significant return on the €10 million they paid for the Italian international.

The former Sevilla and Borussia Dortmund striker is thought to have no qualms about joining Milan if they are excluded from European competition pending an unsuccessful appeal.
