The agent and father of Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio has issued a criticism of the Serie A champions for his treatment of the player and is unsure of what the future holds.

It has been a frustrating campaign for the Bianconeri man, who made just 12 starts in all competitions for the Old Lady and appearing just once off the bench in their Champions League run.

While Stefano Marchisio insisted that the 32-year-old, who has been with the club his entire career (save for a season-long loan at Empoli) wants to remain in Turin, there is growing resentment over his treatment.

“The hope for us is to stay at Juventus, he would like to stay. However, the fact is that Juventus have treated him like one of the last midfielders and he doesn’t appear to be a priority,” he told Il Bianconero.

“Now we have to wait and see. If there is a willingness on the part of the club to make other evaluations then we will act accordingly but he is at Juve.

“There is no deadline on anything. We haven’t contacted Juve for two reasons: firstly because Claudio still has an existing contract with the club and the second is because there’s no news one way or the other.”

In recent days, the midfielder has been linked strongly with a move to Monaco but his father insisted that there was no basis to such stories.

“I don’t know who puts these rumours out there. At this point we won’t even comment on it because Claudio has been linked all over the world with these rumours so it doesn’t make sense to discuss it,” he added.

“There are so many false rumours but there’s no news. Let’s see what happens, we’re waiting for signals.”
