Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Javier Pastore is edging ever closer to sealing a move to Roma, with the Giallorossi reaching a contract agreement with the playmaker.

The Argentina international has found regular playing time hard to come by, and with PSG needing to raise €60 million before the end of June to meet Financial Fair Play regulations, looks set to be sold this summer.

Roma are hoping to bring the former Palermo star back to Serie A and, whilst still negotiating a transfer fee with the Parisiens, Corriere dello Sport reports that personal terms have been reached with Pastore for a four-year contract worth €4m per season.

An agreement was reached during a meeting on Monday between Roma sporting director Monchi and Pastore’s agent, Marcelo Simonian, with the player also set to net substantial bonuses on top of his base salary.

Talks with the Parisiens are also gathering pace, despite the Giallorossi’s opening offer of €15m plus performance-related payments being countered by PSG’s €25m demands.

Indeed, Roma are confident of bringing that asking price down given Pastore only has one season remaining on his current contract, and the two clubs appear set to meet in the middle, at around €20m.

The 29-year-old, who cost PSG €42m when signed from Palermo in 2011, has scored 45 goals in 265 appearances during his spell in the French capital.
