Juventus are interested in strengthening their midfield this summer with the addition of Arsenal central midfielder Jack Wilshere, who will soon be available on a free transfer.

Wilshere came up through the Arsenal youth academy before making his debut for the first team at 16 years old and last season, he made 38 appearances across all competitions, scoring twice and adding six assists.

However, after 10 years at Arsenal ,Wilshere’s contract will expire on June 30 and he seems set for a new challenge, with no contract extension agreed with the Gunners.

According to The Sun, Wilshere will not be offered a new deal as he does not fit into new coach Unai Emery’s formation or tactics and Juventus have joined the lengthy list of admirers.

Arsenal are in the midst of a major squad overhaul that started in January and Emery wants to open up another midfield slot for someone with the departure of the England international.

In recent years, the Italian champions have been known to sign several quality players on free transfers, with Andrea Pirlo, Paul Pogba and Sami Khedira being the most notable examples.
