AC Milan captain Leonardo Bonucci is ready to call time on his spell at the club after only a single season and push for a move to French champions Paris Saint-Germain.

The 31-year-old proved to be a marquee signing for the Rossoneri when he arrived in a €42 million move from Serie A rivals Juventus last summer, but could only help his new club to sixth place.

Given Milan’s recent expulsion from the Europa League after failing to meet Financial Fair Play regulations, Le Parisien report that Bonucci is keen on a new challenge at PSG.

Milan, meanwhile, could be willing to cash in on their star centre-back in order to raise much needed funds following the negative financial implications of UEFA’s decision to ban them.

Bonucci also sees a move to PSG as an opportunity to reunite with former Italy and Juventus teammate Gianluigi Buffon, with the iconic goalkeeper expected to pen a one-year contract in the French capital this week.

The duo are keen to challenge for the Champions League, having lost in two finals together whilst at Juventus, and view PSG as the ideal environment to lift the trophy.

Italian international Bonucci scored twice in 52 appearances for Milan in his maiden season at the Stadio San Siro.
