New PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon wouldn’t be opposed to facing Juventus in the Champions League next season, as long as it doesn’t happen in the final.

The Italian was presented by his new club on Monday after completing his first training session since departing the Bianconeri during the summer.

Buffon made it clear that after spending 17 years at Juventus, facing them in the final of Europe’s top competition would be too much for him to handle.

“Life is surprising and bizarre at times,” he told Sky Sport Italia. “But I hope it spares me from this.

“A PSG-Juventus final would really upset me if I were to win or lose.

“A draw like that would be ok in the other rounds like the round of 16 or quarter-finals, but it would be too much in the final.”

Juventus are closing in on a move for Cristiano Ronaldo, and the Italian legend was adamant a move for the Portuguese ace would be a positive for Serie A.

“I think that Ronaldo to Juventus would be the best possible move for Italian football,” he added.

“It’s a confirmation that Juventus, thanks to their president and all the Agnelli family, is always in tune with the times, and is even ahead of them.

“As long as they are there, the fans can remain calm because the Agnelli have incredible abilities.”

Last season Buffon made 21 appearances in Serie A for Juventus.
