With Chelsea expected to join the race for Lazio starlet Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, reports have surfaced that suggest Blues midfielder Cesc Fabregas could head to the Italian capital as part of the deal.

The 23-year-old’s preferred destination was thought to be Serie A champions Juventus, but with the Old Lady apparently considering their options, the Londoners join Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid as potential suitors.

With the arrival of former Napoli coach Maurizio Sarri at Stamford Bridge sparking their interest in the Serbian, Corriere dello Sport have reported that Chelsea will make an offer in the next few days that meets owner Claudio Lotito’s €155 million valuation.

That proposal will include the Spanish midfielder, who is willing to consider a move to Serie A, but the Biancocelesti will need to budget for Fabregas’ wage demands.

The 31-year-old earns around €8 million-a-year in England and would be looking to secure a three-year contract at least half of his current salary, and looks a step too far for Lazio.
