AC Milan have completed the signing of Alen Halilovic after depositing his contract with the Lega Serie A.

The 22-year-old emerged as a surprise transfer target last week, undergoing medicals with the Rossoneri after it emerged he was set to have his contract with Hamburg cancelled.

Those reports have reached a positive conclusion, as Milan have deposited his contract with league officials, thus sealing his move on a free transfer according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

While a move has been wrapped up, the Rossoneri have yet to make the news official on their website or social media accounts.

Halilovic thus becomes the third player to join Milan on a free transfer, joining the likes of Pepe Reina and Ivan Strinic, who signed from Napoli and Sampdoria respectively.

Last season, the Croatian netted two goals in 21 appearances in all competitions while on loan at Las Palmas.
