With Juventus desperately coveting a Champions League title to mark their era of dominance in Serie A, they have brought in the one man who, more than any other, appears to guarantee success in Europe in Cristiano Ronaldo.
Having pushed Juventus closer than any other side has for some time, you could forgive Napoli for showing some frustration at the news, while Roma and Inter’s impressive early summer spending now appears redundant with the Bianconeri taking another few steps away from the rest of Serie A.
Questions do arise with Cristiano’s arrival, though. Will Juve finally win the Champions League? Will someone now make way? How will Juventus line up?
What is certain is that the Bianconeri have plenty of options to choose from, not just in attack but all over the pitch.
Here are a few ways we could see the Old Lady line up next term.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s arrival will likely spell the end of Gonzalo Higuain’s time in Turin, with Chelsea a possible destination for El Pipita. Juventus lining up in a 4-3-2-1 formation would allow for everything to revolve around the Portuguese.
With Paulo Dybala and Douglas Costa operating behind him and feeding him chances, opposition defences not only in Serie A but the Champions League too would be running scared.
A three of Blaise Matuidi, Miralem Pjanic and Emre Can holding things together in midfield would ensure that they would have no problems moving the ball forward to the talented trio leading the line.
