Juventus and Napoli are ready to pounce for Edinson Cavani, after reports that teammate Neymar demanded the Uruguayan’s exit as part of the terms of his own continuation at Paris Saint-Germain.

The striking duo have endured an uneasy partnership for the French champions following Neymar’s world record arrival from Barcelona last summer, culminating in a public argument over who would take a penalty against Dijon in November.

With Neymar’s future in Paris far from certain, and PSG officials desperate to retain their marquee man, Sport suggest that the Brazilian has demanded the signing of former Barcelona teammate Luis Suarez in order to remain, as well as the departure of Cavani.

Cavani, who joined PSG from Napoli in 2013, is not short of suitors and the Partenopei are expected to face competition from Juventus as they bid to bring him back to Serie A.

The 31-year-old scored 104 goals in 138 appearances for the Azzurri before making the switch to Ligue 1 and going on to lift four league titles.

Cavani surpassed Zlatan Ibrahimovic as PSG’s all-time record goalscorer this season, and has netted 170 goals for the club.
