Inter have signed Racing Club striker Lautaro Martinez for a reported €23 million, and the Argentine has made it clear he can’t wait to get started for his new side.

The news was made official on the Nerazzurri’s website, which confirmed the 20-year-old has put pen to paper on a five-year contract.

Martinez spoke to Inter TV about the move, and he emphasized how excited he is to get started and meet his new teammates and coach.

“I am very happy,” he stated. “I’ve been working for this, and finally things have concluded today, so I’m happy to get this new part of my career under way.

“First of all I want to settle in and know my teammates and coach, then I want to understand what is asked of me on the field.

“Obviously I am ready to give my all for this shirt.”

Despite joining from Racing Club in Argentina, Martinez is confident of adapting to life in Italy.

“I expect to settle in quickly,” he added. “It will be a new type of football for me, one that is different from the Argentine league, but I think Serie A will be crucial in helping me add to my game.

“I will look to help my teammates and play wherever the coach asks me too.”

Martinez becomes Inter’s fifth signing after Radja Nainggolan, Matteo Politano, Kwadwo Asamoah and Stefan de Vrij.
